Hi! My name is Leah and I am the owner of Magnolia + Pine Photography! We are very proud to be a female owned and operated photography business based in Johnston County, North Carolina. I have always had a passion for photography. Growing up as an only child, I had my picture taken a LOT! In typical 1990s style, these pictures were mostly taken on disposable cameras or the old school low budget film cameras. Lucky for me, my parents had no qualms about handing over the camera and letting me try my hand at capturing moments. I'm pretty sure my mom still has the lime green album full of photos from the last day of 4th grade I took on one of many disposable cameras. 
 
 When the  Covid-19 pandemic hit, I felt like I finally had the time to put together my business plan and officially turn my dream into a reality! In the fall of 2020, I finally took the leap and turned my passion into a legally operating photography business, and Magnolia + Pine Photography was born!
 
In addition to owning and operating the business, I work a full time job as a hydrogeologist for the State of North Carolina. Fun fact about me, I actually have two degrees in geology. I got my B.S. from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2017 and I received my M.S. from the University of Tennessee in 2019. I currently work as a member of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality upholding water quality standards to protect our beautiful state's precious resources.

It might sound like I don't have a lot of free time, but I always make time for the most important people in my life. My 96 year old grandmother is one of my absolute best friends, and I go visit her and my parents back in my Pennsylvania home town whenever I can! My mom and I love to have photo shoots, and both my parents make a cameo in my "Couples & Engagement Portfolio". My husband and I love to check out all the local breweries and wineries, although his true passion is spending time on the water with a rod in his hand. I am also blessed with the sweetest fur baby, Ryan, who is a chocolate lab/boxer mix we rescued at 6 years old. (Head over to my Instagram to see my sweet boy). I might have been born an only child, but I'm blessed with seven bonus siblings and two very loving bonus parents. I love the mountains, walks through nature, and reading a good book. I'm also a big Harry Potter nerd and fan of Wine Wednesdays! Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little more about me.
